Getty Trust, private operating foundation that was founded by the American oil billionaire J. Paul Getty to establish the Getty Museum, which opened to the public in 1954. The multibillion-dollar philanthropic foundation exhibits its founder’s art collections and funds ongoing programs in conservation and research. This exhibition was organized by the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, with the participation of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Toscana.
